Your new NHS Clinical Commissioning Group

Dear Frimley resident

I’m delighted to be able to tell you that from today (1st April) you will see our new name of NHS Frimley CCG, replacing our existing three CCG organisations.

The new organisation has been formed, bringing together East Berkshire, North East Hampshire and Farnham and Surrey Heath Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) who have been working together with a shared leadership team over the past year.

By forming a single NHS commissioning body across the Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS) our aim is to work more effectively with our partners and have a single purpose when working on those areas where we benefit from working at scale for our local communities.

We recognise that one of the most prized aspects of CCGs since their creation has been their ability to maintain a local focus. Under our plans we will continue to support and work with local people through integrated teams working in each of our ‘Places’ – Bracknell Forest, North East Hampshire and Farnham, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough and Surrey Heath – while also benefiting from the ability to work at a greater scale and to share ideas and knowledge across our whole patch.

By working closely and bringing together the best of our three organisations we want to build on our achievements. The demands of the last year and the covid pandemic has clearly demonstrated the advantages of working together as one. While we do not expect you to notice any immediate impact of the forthcoming merger itself, our aim is to ensure that the services you receive will continue to be improved through a better understanding of the needs of our local population, developed with you, to improve health and wellbeing for all.

One visible difference which we hope you do notice will be the creation of a new online presence for Frimley CCG. We will be launching a new website and merging our social media channels from the 1st April. Please continue to follow our existing social media channels for the latest updates.

Yours faithfully

  Dr Andy Brooks
